I joined a new spinning and fibre related forum that`s just been set up, The Dropped Spindle. Nice to have a UK based spinning forum, I thought...so much of what`s on the web is American based and full of Americans. NOT that I have anything against America and Americans, belive me, but it`s nice to have a forum closer to home that might talk about our kind of sheep and fleece and our kind of spinning.
It was only when I was looking at the profile and web page of the moderator, Natalie, that I realised just how close to home this forum is. Natalie`s from the Edinburgh Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, and in fact I sat next to her at the spinning demo stand at the Guild Open Day! I even gave her some of my gold Angelina fibre to try...

Hi there, glad you had a good time at woolfest, as those of you who have seen my blog will realise, I couldn't get there because I have broken my ankle and am in a cast at the moment.
I'd be interested to know how you found the forum, I just set it up last week (therapy for my ankle) and was trying to work out how to get in touch with you to invite you along.
It's just as you said really, so much of what's out there is US based, and I just felt something homegrown might meet a need and also encourage other UK/Irish would be spinners (and weavers etc) to link up and share information. Blogs are great, but you have to know they are there in the first place. I was pretty sure you'd have one, but no idea how to find it.
Off to read the rest of your blog now.
Have a good holiday.
